Fabe Beaurel Bambi is the bandleader and songwriter of “Elikia” [Lingala: ‘hope’], 5 piece Parisian afro-jazz ensemble.

“SALA SALA” [Lingala: ‘work work’], their debut album, is a 7 track oeuvre manifesting a joyful message of hope through a vibrant fusion of modern jazz instrumentation and Congolese musical traditions.

Sung in Lingala, Lari, and Kikongo, the record is intended as a call to the transformative power of African and global youth to rise up, work hard, and build a positive future.

Fans of contemporary jazz and funk outfits (Kokoroko, Nate Smith, Richard Bona, Ezra Collective), and Congolese artists (Papa Wemba) will find a lot to chew on, with all 7 tracks casting a wide-net over a dizzying, danceable modern sound grown firmly out of Beaurel’s command of rhythm, soulful vocals, and rich cultural heritage.

Recorded in Paris, at the NAOURI family home over 3 days.
